Penny Boards are very popular with young riders and travelers of all ages because of their portability and extremely light weight. However, many people are confused when they check the graphs and find that there are actually two versions of the classic pennychart: Original and nickel.
I’m going to weigh the pros and cons of both, so you can make a better decision about your choice of Penny versus Nickel Plate.
Pfennig Nickel rat: What’s the difference?
The first thing we need to do is make a distinction between the Boards. The original Pfennig panel is made of durable polyurethane, which can hit the pavement directly and still looks completely new. The trucks are 3,125 inches wide and are equipped with 59 mm Penny Wheels.
With Penny Nickel, the main difference is the LONG plate. The Penny Nickel measures 27 inches and not 22 inches like the long Original Penny. Although the difference is only 5 inches, the skateboard is so small that it makes a huge difference.
Although this is generally not the case, it should also be noted that Penny Nickel also has a broader game than Penny the Original. The trucks were 4 inches wide (almost an inch wider than the original Penny model) to fit on a wider deck.
Original Ticket Board: Advantages/Advantages
With its 22 smaller dimensions, the original Penny Board slides more easily into the backpack. If you want to easily carry a skateboard in your backpack, the original penny is for you.
With an extra 5 inch Penny Nickel also fits in a large backpack, but that strongly depends on the size of your backpack. The Penny Original is small enough to fit in 90% of today’s backpacks.
Because of its shorter size, the original pennyboard can also win the penny versus nickelboard battle in terms of turns. With such a short wheelbase, this version of the Pennyboard is more agile and riders can easily sneak in and out of the crowd.
The biggest disadvantage of the original penny is that a very small card game makes it bad for people who have big legs or feel uncomfortable with their legs so close together.
In fact, most people should have most of the legs of the real deck when they get on that pennyboard. It can be awkward if you’re not used to it. If you are a size larger than 10 (male size), you should probably hold the Pennyboard with your leg up.
Pfennig Nickel: Advantages/Advantages
With an extra length of 5 inches and a board almost an inch wide, the Penny Nickel offers much more space for your feet than the original Penny. If you have big legs, it will be essential to be able to control the board easily.
Because of the large bridge, even beginners can easily use the Penny Nickel. Beginners often have problems with the original penny because of its small size and leg position, and these problems are facilitated by the large bridge.
The Penny Nickel can also go faster and remain more stable thanks to its longer length. If you feel a small hill somewhere during your trip, Penny Nickel might be your best option.
When I discussed this debate with my other writer friends from the air, I had a question: Why would you buy a Penny Nickel if it’s almost as big as a normal skateboard? You should buy a regular skateboard.
And that’s a wise opinion. Skateboards or small longboards like the Landyachtz Dinghy are very popular as small cruise ships around campus.
But I don’t think you should ignore Penny Nickel. This short board often costs a third of the price of comparable skateboards, and the combination of low weight and extreme strength is hard to beat.
What’s best for me?
In general I think Penny Nickel is the best option for beginners and inexperienced riders. The extended deck allows riders to feel comfortable on board and learn to ride.
For riders who are just looking for an extremely portable board, the original board is the best option. Thanks to its small size, it fits easily in backpacks and can be carried without any problems.
